Christian Jazz Band Attacks City With Sweat And Stink

The awesome thing is traveling in a heat wave. It puts everyone's nerves on a crash course for disaster. We broke up the band 8 times yesterday alone.
--Lawrence--cool venue...uncool 2 story load-in...cool peeps (thanks Serena for putting us up)...uncool weather...I don't know what else to say about this place other than we had to get on our knees and beg folk to buy a 4 dollar demo. It was sad. Look at my face, so sad.
My knee is sunburned in a really weird way.
--St. Louis--The Hi-Pointe--cool venue...uncool 2 story load-in...cool sound...uncool pay (attention bands/promoters helping us out with shows and such for a return show in Sioux Falls: we generally receive nothing when an out-a-towner comes in so we can give them all the gas money possible, this is apparently not the way things are done elsewhere, so we may reevaluate our stance on that, and you may get screwed...sorry about that.)
Thanks a bucketload to Jon for putting us up at his house.
We actually played with some awesome bands last night: Those Peabodys and Shame Club...check em out. I'd put links up but that would be to easy for you.
I've picked up a few nicknames on the way, such as Scabby, Scabs, Rashy, Scabs McGee, Scabby Scabbington, Hivey Kissenger, Smelly, Stench McGee, Stenchy Stenchington, and my personal favorite: Billy Joelt-of-smell-is-making-me-cry.

mmmm...toasty,
D
