far from this opera forever more...
notes from the road...
we decided to cancel the Denver show because ole Bessy was making a funny sound we felt we ought to check out. spent most of the day skating around with Danny in Topeka.
19th--played the Electric Chair in Oklahoma City. it has been so hot everywhere that driving in the van with no AC is damn near unbearable. If it wasn't for kind folk like Kendan in OKC letting us use their shower, we would be the smelliest, dirtiest boys ever. (If this turns you on a little bit, that's okay.) The show was okay for a Tuesday night, however, the promoter had the two locals play first so the people who did come left right away. We also got totally screwed on the payment. "Hey thanks...this 30 dollars will probably get us back to the Interstate!!" It's a good thing we're doin okay selling merch. Would probably do a lot better if we actually had our CD here. HAHA>
20th--played an all-ages show at a Skate Park in Witchita. Danny and I were in heaven. Even though we suck hardcore, we had a blast skatin around. The show was pretty cool and we set up in the middle of a half pipe. We pulled double duty so as soon as we were done we packed up and headed to Kirby's Beer Store where we played another set to a small but friendly crowd. Thanks to Tim and Sydney for putting us up. I slept great, finally. It is another scorcher outside so we'll have to find some AC to soak up for awhile. We're on our way to Lawrence, KS, today which is probably the shortest drive of the tour. sweet.
i love you for sentimental reasons.

I wouldn't worry about it though. Boston's not a very big college town.
Say, lads, always remember Oklahoma is "OK," but Kansas is "KS!"
When you're in Lawrence, try referring to it as "Larry," and see if anyone notices.
